- Cadence Cycling Athlete of the Month, September
2006: Lambda Cycling
Foundation founder and executive director, David Richwine was named Cadence
Athlete of month for September 2006 based on his outstanding performance
at the Gay Games and OUT Games this past summer. David is the first openly
gay athlete to receive this award from Cadence Performance Cycling Center.
David won 3 Gold Medals in 3 events at the Gay Games and 1 Gold Medal
and 1 Silver in two events at the OUT Games. Unfortunately, David crashed
in his third event and was unable to complete it at the OUT Games. David
is back on the bike and looking forward to the 2006 season. Among other
events, he plans to compete in the Master's World Amateur Time Trial
Championship in Austria next August.

- Lambda Cycling at the Gay Games, Chicago 2006:
The Gay Games, billed as the second largest athletic event in the world,
provided cyclist with plenty of opportunities to demonstrate the results
years of training and competing. Lambda Cycling with a total of 7 Individual
Gold Medals; 6 Individual Silver Medals and 1 Individual Bronze Medal
were unquestionably the cycling team to beat at this summer's Gay Games
held in Chicago, IL. Team members: Chuck Harney, Washington, DC (Captain);
David Richwine, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Martin Lont, Amsterdam, NL; Gerry
Alman Gum Tree, PA and Karl Faruzel, Albany, NY dominated the final cycling
event, the Team Time Trial with a Gold Medal winning time of 57:32:68.
